
Tara Mulkey was crowned Mrs. Minnesota 2013 on June 15 in Burnsville, MN. She is a resident of Minnetrista where she lives with her husband, Nic Mulkey, and rescue puppy, Chloe. She will be competing in the Mrs. America pageant in Arizona in late August and is hoping to bring the national title home to Minnesota.
Tara, a native of Kentucky and a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, arrived in Minnesota as a result of her work in the fitness and youth sports industries and is now enjoying all Minnesota has to offer including her favorite past time, boating on Lake Minnetonka. She enjoys her career with Life Time Fitness as a Program Designer and Manager for the Life Time Kids Academy.
Tara is committed to raising awareness for childhood obesity by educating children and families on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle through implementing proper nutrition and regular exercise habits. She can be found in her off time working with the 2nd Harvest Food Pantry, the Life Time Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club to further her message and reach out to those in need. As a former elite gymnast, Tara loves volunteering, coaching and teaching youth sports at her local Life Time Fitness including her favorite sport, gymnastics. She is looking forward to a year of discovering more of Minnesota’s wonderful people, exciting personalities, and unique & historic places!
