By July 11, 2017 April 30th, 2020 Past Queens

Jessica Mason-Froehlich

Jessica Mason-Froehlich, Mrs. Michigan 2017, was born in Colorado where she met her husband in high school.  In the 20 years it took them to reconnect she made a career as a professional dancer, including three seasons with the Denver Nuggets Dancers.  At age 7 she announced she would own her own dance studio, and in 2008 she opened Studio 21 Dance.  21 stands for 2 parts drive, 1 part dream; because you have to work twice as hard as you want something.
After building her dance studio for seven years, that dream went on hold to pursue love.  Moving from Colorado to Michigan to reconnect with her high school sweetheart which lead to her proposing to him! She and Will were married two years later.  He has two kids, ages 12 and 14, and she has two of her own, ages 12 and 18.  During her time in Michigan, Jessica has been featured in Grand Traverse Woman Magazine and tv’s 7&4 News “Powerful Woman” series.  In 2016, she launched her free community dance, cheer and leadership team for girls ages 6-12, the All-American Starz Dance Team.  The girls pay nothing to participate and pay for their uniforms entirely themselves through community fundraisers, teaching them leadership and responsibility.
Jessica got into pageantry after seeing Mrs. America on television in 2005.  She has been working for ten years to get here and hopes to use the national platform to promote her Bullying Prevention Program; Compassion Over Reaction.  She started this program in 2016 and has spoken all across northern Michigan, teaching kids to identify bullying behaviors in themselves, effective problem solving and personal responsibility.  She is working to change the language of the Anti-Bullying movement from a zero tolerance policy that labels kids for making bad choices to focus instead on those choices and helping the kids get through the tough time causing them to act out.
